"I am Jesus' Little Lamb" --home-made illustrated songbook #1

This is my home-made songbook for family.  If you like it, you may copy it and use it.  It's not art.  It's my first one...  :)   I left out the pictures of family, baptisms, pastors, and such.  You can personalize this to the hilt.   Blessings.

"I am Jesus' little lamb" is the kind of song Christian mothers and fathers have sung to their children through the generations, and as such is a pearl that needs to keep getting passed on.  It comforted me, too, as I made this book.  My favorite page is the one with the angels and their musical instruments.  Some people relate to angels a lot, wearing pins and so on, but I can relate to these angels who make music. And this beautiful verse is attached to the picture:  "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  John 14:1.  When we do pass through the shadow of death, the Lord's angels will be with us, maybe even singing this song to us, as we move into the Lords presence, the Lord who is our shepherd and cares even then.

Talking about books...

This fall, I am privileged to spend some time teaching music to families with young children, again.

My husband and I have begun accumulating a little library of books with songs, for young children. There is a book series we enjoy tremendously. The songs are adapted by John M. Feierabend, with very creative artwork from various artists to add illustration and give fodder for discussion with children.

Our little toddler knows each book by the title and knows all the songs.  Every time she comes over, she pulls these books out for Opa to sing to her.  Opa has never had so much fun in his life.  The first one we purchased was "The Tailor and the Mouse."  We love it especially for the tune in Aeolian minor tonality and its bouncy rhythm, all while the poor mouse has to live through several stunning adventures.






Which brings me to a new little children's illustrated song-book from Concordia Publishing House.
I also bought it on Amazon, due to Amazon's efficient way of finding books for me...






LORD, Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word.  is such a wonderful, old Reformation hymn that it is a TREASURE to have it in this format for family use.

Cute but a little goofy.

Anyhow, while looking for it I also saw this video by a young man, sharing two grace songs,  mentioning how an atheist friend of his complained about thanks-giving as too humble.

Interesting.
