Hello Gary (and others): what do you think of this? :)
Once we had a big student rally at the University of Alberta and we all got together at Rutherford and sang Christmas Carols. It was a great thing to do in this basically hostile environment. Very heady.
The commercial connection with Macy's, here, does bother me, but I am glad the people look so happy singing it.

Brigitte..
Actually I like this. The organ at Macy's in Philly is one of the largest in the world, so combined with the choirs, etc., the result is what you hear in this clip. Nice. Note, too, how the American shoppers perk up when something is rather well done. It gives them something nice to focus on for a moment rather than on their islamic president, the foreclosures and the latest government sanctioned sexual assaults now taking place at their airports! They need a break and we need a break from 'Jingle Bells', 'Frosty the Snowman' and 'White Christmas'; for that reason, I would be in favor of this.
Great comment, Gary, thanks!
Haendel's Messiah is so inspired musically along with so much scripture, it is really irresistable and wonderful. Everyone looks so thrilled.
"Lift up your head and know that your redemption is near", we had last Sunday.
