These Pretzels are the nice big soft ones as bought from vending carts.
Party here tomorrow. Marilyn M. :) told me baking is so expensive. Well, this one is fun and cheap.
Make sure your yeast is not expired if you don't bake often. Checked mine. Good til June 2011. Hopefully that's reliable. The coarse salt is kind of needed. I forgot to find some.
2 cups hot water
1 package yeast (one tablespoon, 8 gr. is what the recipe says)
3/4 cup brown sugar
5 cups flour
knead
form pretzels
lay in gently boiling basic solution for 30 sec. (made from 1 tablespoon baking soda per 1 cup of water)
put some rough, chunky salt on baking sheet, put pretzel on top.
Put some salt on top.
Bake at 475 Farenheit for about 12 min.
Serve warm with mustard and/or liversausage (and beer most likely).
Good fun for making with children.
One of the most amazing things…

Hi, Brigitte!
That recipe looks like one I will try.
I hope all is well with you and that the Lord is giving you strength and comfort.
That last photo you posted was a beautiful shot.
This working stuff is for the birds. I do think they are trying to do me in.
Hi Steve:
Have fun. It is really easy.
The new computer faces out the window. It's nice to look out and the computer is so fast, saves oodles of time.
We are well, and I think I'm ok now.
Work is like that. No happy medium.
I tried to send you an e-mail from my new self (ringheim, Gitte). You did not reply to it. Did you get it or did your computer throw it out, or you were working too much?
Blessings, Brigitte.
Gitte,
I think i just might try that with John, Though his idea of baking is to open the package, put the cookies on the sheet, and bake them. Well that was a year ago. Now we just open the package and eat.
Hi there!
Yep, weather is much warmer I say;
The Aussie girl replied "I wouldn't say it's warmer. Rather it is not as cold."
Have an enjoyable weekend.
Oh, no, it's "warmer". It's positively "hawaiian" (not having been the Hawaii, I can say that). But the townspeople are saying the same thing. Just like "Hawaii"!
Eating it right from the package, Bror. That's positively barbarian. Back up a bit. Roll the dough, form the pretzels...
Just back from the store for my coarse salt. 2 kg! When will we ever use that. Anybody want some.
I was trying to be nice to the cashier and asked her about her plans, her baking, her letters, etc. They are away from family. They can't eat sweets and baking... Will they make it to church then, maybe?
Oh, she got mad at me and clenched her teeth and started telling me about the nasty hypocritical, self-righteous people at church.
I stayed and listened to it all, even though I was all packed up and tried to say something. But everything just made her madder.
Maybe I'll drop her a card for when she cools down.
Now, clear the front steps, one more bathroom, vacuum, done.
Sometimes people need for someone just to listen. You did that.
Be assured you have planted another seed. Time will tell if it will sprout. You may be needed to go back and water. Perhaps God will send somebody else to take over in your stead and do the watering? Have an enjoyable evening.
Thanks, Mary. It was a great day. The pretzels were a hit and disappeared very quickly, though everyone had already eaten lots.
Thanks for the "shout-out". I haven't made pretzels in quite a long time, you may have inspired me :)
