Back from Cuba
Thankfully, Andrea is back safe and sound from Cuba. The flight was much delayed with unexpected refueling in Winnipeg on the way home. So we were all in Winnipeg in the last few days, our first and last times, most likely.
The parrot is a photo prop. You have to pay so many pesos. But it does look very nice.
Martin received a Castro hat to add to his Soviet winter hat his uncle bought him under the Brandenburg gate. Andrea's Slovak violin teacher still shudders when she sees such a hat. Understandable.
Alas, there is no such thing as safe soil, as we know. But better close by than far away, though.
I remember my grandfather being so concerned when Martin and I went to Sicily, because of the Mafia. We thought it was so quaint of him. Now we know better. But you can't stop youth.

Glad to hear she is back safely on Canadian soil. Mama and Papa can sleep soundly now.
