Read Ezra's post

"Brave atheists tackle the peril of... Canadian Christianity." Ezra usually hits the nail on the head.

That was good.
That probably struck me too when I first heard about the signs. Probably? They don't seem very certain. It's like they want to break the first and second commandments but their subconscious is saying, might not be a good idea. Don't want to come off too strong there is a good chance you're wrong, and then what. And given the consequences of being wrong, it only makes sense to bet on "there might be a God." At least then you win something for winning. What do you win if there isn't? A rational that justifies a hedonistic lifestyle, leading to liver cancer, heroine over doses, broken marriages, prison, syphilis, the clap, Aids....
But on the flip side I do believe in God, and happen to enjoy life quite a bit. I just don't see much reason to abuse it to the point where it isn't enjoyable. Or to abuse others to find happiness. I enjoy a nice evening of drinks and conversation with friends over a game of darts, pool, or poker. A good marriage can be a source of more joy than a one night stand with two playboy models. And you don't have to worry about having a child with a woman that might be good for a night, but you can hardly imagine putting up with for life. I recommend trying a good marriage out. Try making yours a good one, wives submit to your husbands, husbands love your wives, good advice for a good marriage, tried and true. Try it I dare you. This God guy I believe in really wrote the book on how to enjoy life. I'm writing this up for the paper.

I don't feel I've missed out on anything because of God either. Rather an intensifier of joy, like a magnifying glass.

Ezra is right, the bus ad really only says: be a hedonist. But people hardly need to be told this. Everyone seems to do as they please already.

Good article!

Those that attack God and His followers do not like anything that can get in the way of their unbridled, free wheeling, anything goes lifestyle.

The mere presence of those that actually believe in some standards for living, sends them reeling with hatred towards us and towards God.

Doing what you want when you want may be fun, but it will leave behind a trail of destruction that never ends.

When the light of Christ enters into our darkness we begin to understand this and lend our lives to helping people and truly loving them, rather than to using them and destroying them (unwittingly) for our immediate gain.

Thanks Brigitte!
